Autumn Tech Challenge FAQs
Can I get OAA credit for participating in the Summer Tech Challenge?
YES! Each badge has been assigned a time value! In order to get OAA you must complete enough badges to equal 6 hours. It is YOUR responsibility to document and submit the paperwork to request OAA. You can locate the OAA form on the SDoL Intranet under the Office of Teaching and Learning/Documents/Professional Development/OAA-Other Approved Activity.
MUST I submit this for OAA? I only want to do one badge!
No. You may do as many or as few badges as you would like! The intent is for you to work at your own pace and as you are inclined. This is a professional learning opportunity, not a requirement!
What can I do with my virtual badge?
Virtual badges are awarded to show the completion of learning/tasks for professional growth. Badges may be displayed on any Classroom webpages/blogs or add them to your e-mail signature. Badges may be printed and submitted to your supervisor as anecdotal evidence of professional growth for the Observation/Supervision/Evaluation process!
I hate the badge I am working on! Do I HAVE to complete it, or can I do a different badge?
You are not compelled to complete any badge. If you are not enjoying the learning experience, you can abandon the badge and work on another. Please keep in mind that some badges are leveled and each badge is intended to draw upon knowledge/skills/experiences acquired in preceding badges. However, the learner is in the driver's seat and you may differentiate as desired.
What if there is a topic I am interested in but it is not listed in the directory?
